PI Asset Framework (PI AF) is a robust tool which acts like a single repository for asset-centric models, hierarchies, objects and equipment (hereafter referred to as elements). It integrates, contextualizes, refines, references and further analyzes data from multiple sources including one or more PI servers and non-PI sources such as external Relational Databases. It then exposes equipment or assets through the PI System components such as PI Notifications or PI ProcessBook where they can be used to build displays, run calculations, integrate with alerts and more. PI Asset Framework can also expose elements to non-PI systems. It includes a number of search capabilities to help users sift through static and real time information repositories including: indexed searching, basic and advanced search capabilities and refine search functionality.
